That time didn’t go into one room. It went into the method — how to read a space, what to decide in which order, what a system has to survive when it gets used every day by people who are not engineers. The room was the proof. The process is what I bring to a spare bedroom or a sanctuary.
Most audio problems are not microphone problems. They are a hard ceiling, a parallel wall, a speaker pointed at glass, a fridge two rooms away. Fix the room first and the rest of the chain gets cheaper.
